governor dave heineman affirmative action ban smoking monkey

I hope it’s obvious that there is good reason to rip off a previous cartoon.

From the Aug 28 Lincoln Journal Star: (story no longer online)

“I don’t feel as governor I have to take sides on every single issue,” Heineman said during a Wednesday news conference. …

The governor has side-stepped repeated questions about the proposed constitutional amendment the past few weeks, saying he hasn’t had time to study the issue.

If even the governor of a state hasn’t had enough time to form an opinion on an issue, is it responsible to put it before the voters? Is it safe to assume that the majority of Nebraska’s voters are more informed about the issues affecting the state than the governor? If so, what does that say about our voters, and what does it say about our governor?

With as many signs as that poor chimp has, you’d think that there would be some noticeable difference in his appearance. That chain smoking has got to catch up with him sometime…

  2. neal says:

It may be time to invest in a color monitor, because that chimp is brown now.

  3. Kyle Stewart says:

That’s supposed to be me hanging that sign, isn’t it.

  4. Mike Honcho says:

Soo…does smoking make life more colorful? ;)
