I wouldn’t be opposed to legislation like the Dream-Act if pro-immigrant activist would concede to the deportation of others unlawfully in the United States. Others like gang bangers, rapist, child molesters, drug dealers, drunk drivers, murderers, etc. It seems to me that these activists are pushing an all or nothing agenda. Sadly, this is at the expense of bright and promising students.

I know this response is two years late- but OneBlkVoice, I don’t think that any immigration activist is stating that undocumented persons breaking the law should not be deported. Immigrating to this country stipulates that the person should be of “good moral character.” That goes for documented and undocumented alike. If at any time during your permanent residency, conditional or when your conditional status is removed, you break the law (except for many minor misdemeanors), you may be subject to deportation proceedings. Under the DREAM Act, all those who apply must abide by these rules as well.
